(12) shiny new site

hello, i'm finally rolling out the site update! took me long enough...i actually missed a blog post because of this. was hoping to talk about a trip i had a while ago and my feelings around it, but life got pretty busy in many ways and it took way more time than expected to finish changing everything. i got tired of iframes so i did away with those. i got javascript to run instead and now code is a lot less convoluted. but as a result, i had to edit a lot to make it compatible with what i now have going on. hopefully, if i ever decide to update it in the future, the code will be a lot easier to wrangle with the pieces set up like this.

i haven't really finished much art related content because of rough life stuff and also just hyperfixation on video games, to be blunt. sometimes when life is going rough, i just want to come home and kill stuff in a game for a few hours before i go to bed. i'm hoping to start the art grind again soon, because i'd be sad if i didn't get anything drawn in the month of april. i haven't missed a month of art in quite some time...but that aside, currently, all the tabs should be restored to their previous functionalities. i've removed/retired some and updated quite a few things. oc bios and extended bios got some rewrites, images are no longer being hotlinked and are all hosted on neocities now, and i think the site should be a lot smoother to navigate. please let me know if you see any mistakes or find broken links! it's kinda hard for me to proofread and manage everything, but i am trying my best out here. it really means a lot to me when people catch mistakes for me and take the time to let me know.

at the moment, the worldbuilding section is under construction, but i hope to flesh that out a bit with the months to come. i outlined a bit of what i planned to include in there: general lore related terminology, location/organisation information, and more information about specific systems that play out in actaera, such as shapeshifting, the usage of kheji, the existence of dragons, and more! i think this might be a good place to exercise my writing muscles alongside semi regular blog posts. writing prose has become somewhat of a chore for me, and where i am in life right now, i don't really find much relief in doing it. brainstorming world ideas or just rambling about my feelings, something a lot less structured with less focus on presentation, seems a lot more appealing to me right now.

there will be another blog post out before the end of this month, to make out for the lack of one last month. i'm still hoping to talk about that trip i went on! as an aside, i'm also getting some nendos made of my ocs, and some cute new plushies of them are also on the way. much to look forward to indeed. cheers, and i hope the new site makes the experience of navigating my silly brain more fun and easy!
